Spotted Gum
November 20, 2017
So... Blue and Yellow. Of course that's exactly the colours I would expect in a Gum Tree... not! This grove of spotted gums in the Mimosa National Park must surely be familiar to everyone down on the South Coast, It's an amazing area where the trees grow with their companion ferns just like they must have for eons. I was so impressed with these trees that I used pictures from one to make a 'bark panorama' where we took 40-odd photos around the trunk of the tree then hand knitted them together (well... hand knitted in photoshop) to make a 360 degree view of the tree. An otherwise impossible view. These are featured in the installation currently showing in a popup shop on the main strip in Bermagui. Go to ARTWORKS page to see the results.
